Abilities Pediatric Therapy is growing our speech team in East County San Diego. Families in El Cajon, Poway and Mira Mesa are waiting for speech services, and we're looking for an SLP who loves working with babies and toddlers and wants a caseload close to home.

Every client is an infant or toddler referred through San Diego Regional Center's Early Start program. You'll work in families' homes and daily routines, helping little ones find their first words and coaching parents so communication practice continues between visits.

Your speech caseload

• Mostly late talkers and children with expressive and receptive language delays
• Some children who use AAC, and some with early feeding needs
• Evaluations, family-centered goals, and weekly home visits built around play, meals and everyday routines

How the job works

• You choose your service area, days and hours.
• Part-time: 10–24 clients per week. Full-time: 25+ clients per week.
• Our referrals team matches you with families near you and coordinates with SDRC service coordinators.

Support for SLPs

• 1-on-1 mentorship with your assigned lead SLP
• Regular team meetings for case review and discussion
• An assessment library you can use, plus AAC devices to borrow for trials
• Supplies and CEU stipends

Clinical Fellows welcome

We welcome SLP-CFs who are open to splitting their fellowship between our home-based early intervention work and another setting, such as a clinic. The second setting gives you more in-person mentorship and feedback, while you build early intervention experience with us.

Pay

• $65–$70 per hour
• Documentation time is built into each therapy hour.
• Initial evaluations are paid at 2 hours, including the report. Progress and discharge reports are paid up to 45 minutes.

Physical Therapist Job Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy for infants and toddlers in home and community settings.

Candidates Must Have:

• Graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current California Physical Therapy license or eligibility for licensure.

Candidates Must Have

• Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university and an active California OT license.
• 1+ year of pediatric experience; early intervention (0–3) strongly preferred.
• Proficient with technology; Google Workspace experience preferred.
• Knowledge of early intervention theories, rehabilitation principles, and evidence-based practices for sensory processing challenges.
